Welcome to Virtuoso School of Music and Art offers an extensive selection of dance classes no matter who you are: a kid, a teen or an adult. You can be certain that classes are held in a very encouraging environment by skillful professionals oriented in all styles of dance. 

RHYTMIC HARMONY:Dance Mastery Classes

BALLET and It’s Varieties

Modern dance  Ages 6-9 
Learning basic  movements in accordance with music adapted: several styles of  Modern and Contemporary , correct body placement. Children will prepare a small setting for performing at our semi-annual school recitals. Group classes and private lessons are available.


Dynamic Moves: Modern/Contemporary Dance Class for Ages 10 and Up

Continuing studying by adding more complex movements and such dance elements as turns and jumps. The students will be given an opportunity to choreograph small sections of the dance for performing at our semi-annual school recitals. Music and costumes adapted are guaranteed! Group classes and private lessons are available.

 

Adult Jazz/Contemporary Ages 18 and Up

The Broadway style of dance with students stretching and doing “across the floor” exercises (turns and leaps). Group classes and private lessons are available.

 

Lyrical Jazz
Lyrical dance combines the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance. Group classes and private lessons are available.

 

BALLROOM DANCE  Ages 6-10 and Up
What are the advantages of ballroom? Coordination, grace, poise, and posture building… but the list is not over. Core strength and flexibility. Amazing fact that ballroom dancing is one of the most effective forms of cardiovascular exercise because… it doesn’t feel like cardio.

In a Ballroom dance class, students can learn a range of skills and techniques tailored to various ballroom dance styles. These may include:
 
1. **Waltz:**
   – Basic box step and turns.
   – Smooth and graceful movements across the dance floor.
   – Emphasis on poise and frame.
 
2. **Foxtrot:**
   – Basic Foxtrot steps and traveling movements.
   – Development of a smooth, gliding style.
   – Partner coordination and connection.
 
3. **Cha-Cha:**
   – Fundamental Cha-Cha steps and syncopated footwork.
   – Dynamic hip movements and quick, energetic pacing.
   – Emphasis on rhythm and playful expression.
 
4. **Rumba:**
   – Slow, romantic movements and hip motion.
   – Connection between partners through gentle, flowing steps.
   – Expressive arm and hand styling.
 
5. **Swing:**
   – Basic Swing steps, including triple steps and rock steps.
   – Energetic, upbeat, and playful style.
   – Partner dynamics and connection.
 
6. **Tango:**
   – Distinctive Tango walks and sharp movements.
   – Close hold and passionate, dramatic expression.
   – Precision in foot placement and timing.
 
Ballroom dance classes not only teach specific steps but also focus on proper posture, partner communication, and musicality. Students often gain confidence, improve coordination, and enjoy the social and performance aspects of ballroom dancing.

HIP-HOP GROOVE : Unleash Your Dance Beat Ages 6-10

In a hip hop dance class for kids, they will learn fundamental techniques, coordination, and rhythm specific to hip hop movements. The curriculum typically covers basic steps, isolations, and popular dance moves. Students will also explore creativity through freestyle elements and learn choreographed routines. Additionally, the class may incorporate elements of hip hop culture, fostering an understanding of the dance style’s history and expression. Overall, kids will develop a strong foundation in hip hop dance while enhancing their coordination, confidence, and creativity.

 

JAZZ-FUNK, DANCEHALL Ages 5-8 and 9-14 

During training, we learn choreography in modern styles.

In Jazz-funk classes, participants learn a fusion of jazz and street dance styles. The focus is on developing a strong foundation in jazz technique while incorporating the energetic and expressive elements of funk and street dance. Students work on isolations, dynamic movements, and stylized choreography.
 
In Dancehall classes, participants explore the energetic and vibrant Jamaican dance style known as Dancehall. Students learn the characteristic moves, footwork, and isolations associated with Dancehall. The classes often emphasize musicality, rhythm, and the cultural context of Dancehall, allowing participants to connect with the spirit and authenticity of the dance form.
 
Both Jazz-funk and Dancehall classes provide a dynamic and contemporary approach to dance, encouraging self-expression, creativity, and a strong connection to the rhythm and style of the respective genres.
 

SOLO LATIN: Bachata,Salsa,Samba Ages 16+

Pair Bachata for ages 16+:
A social dance. Bachata is suitable for people of all ages. It offers relatively simple choreography and the opportunity to freely express emotions through dance. Social dances involve active interaction within the group.
 
1. **Bachata:**
   – Fundamental Bachata steps and basic footwork.
   – Connection and communication between dance partners.
   – Styling and body movement to enhance expression.
   – Musicality and understanding of Bachata music.
 
2. **Samba:**
   – Basic Samba steps and rhythmic footwork.
   – Hip and body movement characteristic of Samba.
   – Coordination and balance during fast-paced sequences.
   – Embracing the lively and festive spirit of Brazilian Samba.
 
3. **Salsa:**
   – Core Salsa steps, turns, and spins.
   – Partner connection and leading/following techniques.
   – Timing, musical interpretation, and synchronization with the music.
   – Styling and body movement to add flair to the dance.
 
Overall, these social Latin dance classes provide a fun and interactive environment for participants to learn the essential techniques, cultural nuances, and social aspects of each dance form. Participants often gain not only dance skills but also confidence and a sense of enjoyment in social dancing contexts.
 

 

BELLY DANCE FOR ADULTS 

Belly dance is a traditional Middle Eastern dance form characterized by intricate hip and torso movements. In Adult Belly dance classes, participants learn a variety of techniques, including isolations, shimmies, and undulations. The focus is on developing fluidity, grace, and strength in the movements. Classes often incorporate choreography, allowing students to practice and showcase their skills. Beyond the physical aspects, Belly Dance classes may also explore the cultural and historical context of this dance form, providing a holistic learning experience for adults. Participants often find belly dance classes to be a joyful and empowering way to express themselves through movement.

 

Private lessons

The newcomers can start their studying at any time all year round. Skilled teachers and individual approach to every student are guaranteed.

Group lessons

Group lessons are held one per week and last for 1 hour. They are the best option for those who only get acquainted with the instrument and are only going to learn such basics a note, values, time, signature and position. Apart from that, you will develop concepts and techniques of your own. And, certainly, we meet halfway the students who want to become more skillful with the help of private lessons.

Private lessons are available on a weekly basis for 30 min., 45 min., or 1-hr duration. Group lessons are held in a 1-hr session.
