Dasha Shostak – Flute Instructor
I was born in Belarus. My music career started when I was 10 y.o. I entered High School of Music in my town, taking flute classes. Besides playing flute I was singing in choir for two years and was taking extra piano classes. Then I joint brass band of the school. Being part of the band I was traveling around Belarus, giving concerts, representing our town and our school. Also I took part in annual concerts of the school as a solo player.
After graduation from the school me and my friends created a trio, consisted from voice, guitar and flute. Together we wrote three songs in the Belarussian language. At the beginning we were playing for ourselves but then started to participate in different contests. We took the second award on the Bard song contest in our town.
Then I entered Minsk State Linguistic University, choosing School of Translation and Interpreting. Immediately after entering I joint the university choir “Cantus Juventae”. We were taking part in university celebrations and events. There I met a lot of talented people, who came from different places, who also had different music education. They inspired me to continue my music career, therefore two of my group mates and me created a band of piano, voice and flute. Together we participated in some university events. We were playing music of modern artists, making covers and adding features of our band style. While studying at university I continued to practice my piano lessons by myself.
Nowadays, I’m acting as a solo flute player, performing music of different times and styles. All the time I try new techniques and compositions. I’m happy to be a part of the professional team of Virtuoso School of Music and Art.
